Audit Log
Overview
Section titled “Overview”The Audit Log is a security and administrative tool that provides a chronological record of actions and events within your organization. Use it to track changes, investigate incidents, and ensure accountability.
Viewing the Audit Log
Section titled “Viewing the Audit Log”- Navigate to the Audit Log page from the main menu.
- A table of recent events will appear, showing the most recent actions first.
Information Displayed
Section titled “Information Displayed”The audit log table displays the following columns:
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Date | The exact date and time the action occurred |
| Resource | The type of item that was changed (e.g., Form, User, Assignment, Team) |
| Name | The specific name of the item that was affected |
| User | The user who performed the action |
| Action | The type of change (Create, Update, Delete) |
Viewing Event Details
Section titled “Viewing Event Details”Each log entry can be expanded to show the specific details of what changed.
- Click on any row in the audit log table.
- An accordion will expand showing the Changes view.
- This view displays the fields that were modified, including before and after values.
Filtering the Audit Log
Section titled “Filtering the Audit Log”Use filters to find specific events quickly.
Using Filters
Section titled “Using Filters”- Click the Filters button at the top of the page.
- Set any combination of the following filters:
- Start Date / End Date: Filter to a specific date and time range
- Action: Filter by event type (Create, Update, Delete)
- Resource Type: Filter by the type of item (e.g., Form, User, Team, Assignment)
- User: Filter by the user who performed the actions
- The log will automatically update to show matching events.
Searching by Name
Section titled “Searching by Name”- Use the search bar at the top of the page.
- Enter the name of the resource you’re looking for.
- Results will filter as you type.
Note: You can combine filters with search to narrow down results further.
Common Use Cases
Section titled “Common Use Cases”Investigating Changes
Section titled “Investigating Changes”To find out who made a specific change:
- Filter by Resource Type to narrow down the type of item.
- Use the search bar to find the specific resource by name.
- Click on the row to see the details of what changed.
Reviewing User Activity
Section titled “Reviewing User Activity”To see all actions performed by a specific user:
- Click Filters.
- Select the user from the User dropdown.
- Optionally set a date range to focus on a specific time period.
Tracking Deletions
Section titled “Tracking Deletions”To find deleted items:
- Click Filters.
- Set Action to Delete.
- Optionally filter by Resource Type or date range.
Tracked Resources
Section titled “Tracked Resources”The audit log tracks changes to the following resource types:
- Forms
- Assignments
- Users
- Teams
- Locations
- Roles
- Projects
- Announcements
- And more…
